Who We Serve

We believe that the most effective strategy for increasing the STEM pipeline is to focus on development of children from underserved or underrepresented communities and groups. Every student has the potential to fall in love with STEM, but not every student has been given the resources and preparation necessary to succeed. We equip teachers at our partner schools and summer programs to close this gap (see the Programs page for more on what we do for schools and teachers).

  • Students in grades 4 through 12, ages 9 through 17 years
  • Approximately 50% male, 50% female
  • 62% African American, 9% Asian or Hispanic, 29% non-Hispanic white
  • 74% children (under 13), 26% teens
